SARASOTA — Andrea Frank has been named general counsel of Palmer Ranch Holdings, the firm behind one of the larger master-planned communities in the region.

Frank is the daughter of prominent landowner and developer Hugh Culverhouse, whose father, Hugh Culverhouse Sr., owned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Culverhouse now runs Palmer Ranch, a 5,500-acre community in central Sarasota County. That's where Frank will oversee real estate interests and strategic planning of the land investment side of the business, according to a release.

Frank will work with both Culverhouse and Palmer Ranch Holdings executive Justin Powell in her role, which is a new position for the company. Frank, the release states, was previously in private practice in Coral Gables, where she specialized in taxation, foreign trusts, estate planning, wealth preservation, real estate and commercial matters.

Frank has a Master of Laws in taxation from The New York University School of Law, according to the release, and a law degree from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
