The Southwest Florida speaker tour is off to a bang in January.
One of the hottest tickets will be to hear Sen. Ted Cruz. The vocal Republican from Texas will speak to the members-only Speakers Assembly of Southwest Florida in Bonita Springs at a Jan. 16 luncheon.
Cruz will address the gathering and will also answer questions from the audience for 30 minutes. Many in the audience are retired executives and the event is known for sharp questioning of the speakers.
Despite never having held office, Cruz won election in 2012. The Houston lawyer's previous public experience was as Solicitor General of Texas, the state's chief lawyer before the U.S. Supreme Court.
