Health care firm hires new medical director
WellCare Health Plans named Mark Leenay chief medical director.
Leenay has nearly 30 years' clinical and operational experience, including 10 years as a chief medical officer for multiple health care systems. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Optum Global.
Leenay has spent a large portion of his career working on population health, according to the statement. At WellCare he will lead the company's care management programs.
WellCare Health Plans, headquartered in Tampa, focuses on providing government-sponsored health care services, primarily through Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. The company has 3.8 million members nationwide.

Mosquito company wins innovation award
The Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County recognized mosquito repellent developer Penta5 USA for its creative package designs during an annual awards luncheon.
Sarasota-based Penta5 won the Ringling College Innovation by Creative Design award for two of its products: the repellent packed in a VialPaQ and the outdoor twin compartment pouch.
Penta5 has developed an all-natural no-bite mosquito repellent. CEO Charles Murray is also CEO of Sarasota-based pouch manufacturing company PPi Technologies.
Payroll firm announces health care partnership
Progressive Employer Management Co. announced a partnership with leading health insurance provider Florida Blue.
“Florida Blue is the dominant health insurance carrier in the state of Florida and has a well-respected brand,” said PEMCO CEO Clinton Burgess in a statement. “Their network depth and contract strength provide our clients with a benefit platform that is among the top in the industry.”
Sarasota-based PEMCO, a payroll, human resources, workers' compensation and employee benefits firm, has 10 office locations in Florida and Texas. It recently opened two new sales offices in Jacksonville and Ocala.

Law firm names new managing partner
Mark Klym has been named managing partner for the Naples law office of Hahn Loeser & Parks.
Klym has been a partner at Hahn Loeser since 2010. His practice focuses on estate planning and probate and trust litigation, a statement says. He also has experience working with succession plans, drafting limited liability companies and startups.
“Mark is a proven leader with the ability to successfully manage and direct our team in Naples,” says Jeanne Seewald, a Naples partner and newly elected member of Hahn Loeser's board of directors.
Hahn Loeser has more than 130 attorneys. In addition to Naples and Fort Myers, it has offices in Cleveland, Columbus and Akron, Ohio; Chicago; and San Diego. The firm was founded in 1920 and opened a Naples office in 2003.
