Eileen Rosenzweig, co-owner of a Sarasota-based Sir Speedy copy and printing franchise, continues to make the best of a difficult situation: Despite the recession, the store made the chain's top 10 sales volume rankings for fiscal 2009 — the ninth year in a row it made the list.

The store, one of about 800 Sir Speedys worldwide, reported annual revenues of just over $3 million. Rosenzweig co-owns the Sarasota store with local entrepreneurs Jackie and Mike Sanderson.

The recession has hit printing businesses such as Sir Speedy especially hard, as businesses look to cut back on marketing spending or find less costly ways of doing it. But Rosenzweig brought on another salesperson last year, hoping to reverse the trend.

Rosenzwieg also recently began focusing on the online graphics side of the business, as that niche has proven to be more recession resistant. The store ranked 8th on the franchise network's top 10 list.
