Consumer finance firm appoints CFO

Kelly Malson succeeds Chad Steinorth at Nicholas Financial Inc.

CLEARWATER — Nicholas Financial Inc., a publicly traded specialty consumer finance company, has hired Kelly Malson as its new chief financial officer, effective on or before June 15.

Malson takes over from Chad Steinorth, who was appointed vice president and interim CFO in February, when he rejoined the Clearwater-based company following more than a decade away. 

According to a press release, Malson brings a wealth of finance industry experience to the role, including leadership positions with Conn’s Inc., World Acceptance Corp., KPMG LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP.
