Construction firm picks up new name

A Pennsylvania-based construction firm with a small but growing Florida office based in Sarasota has changed its name, from Hostetter Construction to Holland Construction.

The Holland family bought the company from the Hostetters in the 1980s, but kept the name because of the company's solid reputation. The Hostetter family founded the firm in Hanover, Pa. in 1907.

Local construction executive Craig Campbell, who was previously the president of Palmetto-based Zirkelbach Construction, runs Holland's Florida division. The unit has been able to land several contracts during the industry downturn, including one to build a Fresh Market in St. Petersburg and several other commercial projects in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
