NAPLES — The Conservancy of Southwest Florida raised $38.5 million, meeting and exceeding its five-year goal, according to a release issued by the group.
The money will be used to support “core Conservancy programs,” the group says, including updates and renovations planned for its 21-acre nature center, near Goodlette-Frank Road in Naples.
Dolph von Arx, the former chairman, CEO and president of Planters Lifesavers Co., serves as chairman of the Conservancy's board of directors. Earlier this year, he and wife, Sharon, were named humanitarians of the year by Hodges University.
Von Arx currently oversees a venture-capital firm that provides angel investing to startup companies around the world.
