BONITA SPRINGS – Following 12 months of construction, Bonita Bay Club has opened a new, 15,000-square-foot sports center that includes a new racquet complex, a redesigned pool area and a dining venue.

The club’s original swimming pool was transformed into a geo-thermal, zero-entry saltwater pool with four 75-foot lap lanes, a waveless gutter design and more space for lounging, according to a statement. The pool also features five water bowls that transition to fire in the evening.

The racquet complex has 18 Har-Tru courts with a subsurface irrigation system to maintain optimal playing conditions, and 13 lighted courts for evening play. A covered patio overlooks the championship court and provides a location for viewing matches. The club also added five new cushioned pickleball courts with LED lighting, the statement adds.

The club also debuted Breezeway Cafe & Bar, a new casual dining option. The open-air venue connects the pool area and racquet complex through a 120-foot breezeway and serves casual poolside fare.

“The sports center has become the new social hub for members enjoying the pool, racquet sports and casual dining,” says Clubhouse Manager Joseph Elwell in the release. “The response from members and guests has been extremely enthusiastic.”

Bonita Bay Club includes three Arthur Hills-designed courses within the 2,400-acre Bonita Bay community.
