Community Bank of Manatee generated $490,000 in net income in the second quarter of 2010, while issuing more than $14 million in new loans to Tampa Bay area businesses and individuals.

“There are many businesses in the Tampa Bay area that are thriving and who need access to loans,” said Trevor Burgess, a director at Community. “We are developing great new relationships with these businesses as we are actively lending money — this will serve us and our customers for many years to come."

The bank's second quarter operations were boosted by a $1.7 million capital injection, a release said.

Based in Bradenton, Community Bank operates five branches along the Gulf Coast.
