Church & Dwight CEO joins Bloomin' Brands

TAMPA — Restaurant company Bloomin' Brands Inc. has appointed James Craigie, the chairman and CEO of Church & Dwight Co. Inc., to its board of directors. Craigie will also join the audit committee.

Church & Dwight Co. Inc. is the company behind several well-known household and personal care consumer products, including bands such as Arm & Hammer, First Response, Oxi Clean and Trojan.

Craigie joined the Church & Dwight in 2004 and has been CEO since 2007. He has also held senior management positions with Spalding and Kraft Foods and served with the U.S. Navy/Department of Energy as an officer for six years. Craigie is a member of the boards of directors of Meredith Corp., Solazyme Corp. and The Gettysburg Foundation.

“Jim is a recognized leader of consumer brands, and we are fortunate to have him join our board of directors,” Elizabeth Smith, chairwoman of the board and CEO of Bloomin' Brands, says in a press release. “Innovation, especially in competitive business environments, has been a key driver in Jim's impressive career. His insight will help guide us as we continue to drive long-term growth and shareholder value.”

Tampa-based Bloomin' Brands' portfolio of restaurants includes Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Roy's. It has nearly 1,500 restaurants in 48 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and 21 countries.
