FORT MYERS -- LTC Global, a long-term insurance distributor, named Richard Pitbladdo to the position of CEO this week, effective Jan. 1. Pitbladdo was the company's first chief executive, when LTC first opened its doors in 2002.
The company relocated to Fort Myers in October 2010 from Medford, Ore., where it was founded. At that time, CEO Thomas Skiff described the area as having “a business-friendly environment,” and said the region provided his company with “the opportunity to grow our business lines cost effectively.”
Skiff remains CEO until he resigns at year's end to pursue other opportunities, necessitating Pitbladdo's return to the chief executive role. Pitbladdo had been serving as chief financial officer since 2004; he will be succeeded internally by David Yost.
LTC Global has acquired 13 insurance agencies since 2007. In addition to marketing long-term policies, the firm also purchases future commission payments on long-term policies that renew.
