Business ethics awards

The Sarasota Business Ethics Alliance has announced that it will hold its first annual Sarasota Business Ethics Awards event in January 2011.

On April 12, the group will host a panel discussion, titled “Practicing Business Ethics Improves Performance,” to promote the awards event. The discussion will take place at 4 p.m., and will focus on ethics' impact on leadership and productivity.

Panelists will include Stephen Martin, senior vice president of Canandaigua National Bank; Allen Carlson, president of Sun Hydraulics; Jennifer Compton, an attorney with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick; and Ross Alander, of USF Sarasota-Manatee's College of Business.

The panel will be moderated by Cookie Boudreaux, principal at Mark Kamin & Associates. There is no cost to participate, and reservations can be made by e-mailing the organization at info@beasarasota.com.
