LEE COUNTY — The latest building reports show some positive trends for Lee County in the month of August.

The building values of commercial building permits are up 40% compared to August of last year, and the number of single-family permits are up 70% over the year to 37, according to Lee County data.

A spokeswoman from the department says the growth in values of commercial permits was due in part to a permit issued to Diversified Yacht Services Inc., which plans to build an $8 million facility.

Building permit values have totaled $103 million this year with 20,850 permits issued thus far, a release from the county says.
