BRADENTON — Barry Brown is the new Manatee market president for Bank of the Ozarks, the institution that acquired Horizon Bank in September.

Brown will be a new face for Ozarks in Bradenton; the bank is relocating him from a senior commercial lending position in Dallas to take on the new role. A banker since 1982, Brown has held a variety of executive positions with community banks in Texas over the past five years.

Bank of the Ozarks Inc. (symbol: OZRK) is the publicly traded holding company of Bank of the Ozarks. Based in Little Rock, Ark., the company manages more than $4 billion in assets through a network of 113 bank branches in seven states.
