Law firm hires decorated Army veteran as staff attorney

Brian Hart joins Tampa-based Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick.

TAMPA — Brian Hart has joined Tampa law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick as a staff attorney and will be part of its litigation practice group.

According to a press release, Hart, a decorated Army veteran, deployed multiple times to the Middle East in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the military, he served as an assistant state attorney with the Twentieth Judicial Circuit.

At Shumaker, the release states, Hart will focus his practice on legislation related to community associations.

“We look forward to Brian maintaining the excellence for which Shumaker is known in representing community associations,” states Jonathan Ellis, a partner and community associations practice administrator, in the release.

During law school, the release states, Hart logged more than 400 hours of legal pro bono work, most of which were dedicated to assisting homeless veterans in the Jacksonville area.
