Tampa attorney Fred Zinober is big on big cases and on making sure people know he is big on big cases.
His resume includes representing Oba Chandler, who is on death row in Florida for the 1989 triple murder of an Ohio woman and her two daughters.
Zinober now hopes to be getting even bigger with his latest move: Teaming up with Ted Corless, a fellow well-known Tampa attorney to form a new law firm, Corless Zinober.
Zinober, in typical theatrical fashion, says the recession isn't one of his main worries. Though other attorneys are taking a hit, Zinober says the slumping economy “is actually generating business. We always say 'when the economy is good people file lawsuits, when it's bad, people get sued.'”
The firm is, however, starting to pay closer attention to clients' budgets. “People can't be as aggressive as they used to be,” says Corless, “but we still do our best to take a case all the way.”
Corless Zinober has 23 employees and handles cases worth more than $100 million.
