TAMPA — The University of South Florida Bulls have teamed up with Valley National Bank for a partnership in which the bank will be the season-presenting sponsor of USF football, beginning in 2018.

The new relationship also includes the creation of the $75,000 Valley for Veterans scholarship fund. According to a press release, for each Bulls touchdown scored during 2018 home games, USF and Valley National Bank will award a scholarship to a first-generation veteran student attending the university.

Terms of the sponsorship deal were not disclosed.

“This partnership is an extension of our already strong relationship with USF,” states Joseph Chillura, Valley National Bank’s regional president, in the release. “We are proud to join the Tampa Bay region in the excitement and energy surrounding the University of South Florida and USF Athletics. With USF being named the No. 1 public university in the country for veterans, we recognized this unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact on those students.”

USF began its 2018 football season Sept. 1 with a 34-14 won over Elon at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

“We are very excited to welcome Valley National Bank to this new multi-year sponsorship of USF Athletics and the Bulls’ football season, and are even more thrilled to be able to help support veteran students at USF through this partnership,” USF athletic director Michael Kelly states in the release.
