The members of Tampa Bay Business and Professional Women have elected a new president: Sherri Strazz, a commercial real estate agent based in Clearwater, will lead the group in 2010 and 2011.
Formed in 2009, Tampa Bay BPW is the product of a merger between two other Tampa Bay-area women's groups. It is a member organization of the Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, a 2,500-member group founded in 1919.
“As challenging as the business market has been in the past few years, the women of Tampa Bay have come together through Tampa Bay BPW to work together for women. We are involved philanthropically through our support of Miracles Outreach, including their Fresh Start Residential Home for Girls, as well as raising money for the Tampa Bay BPW Foundation, which provides scholarships for women to continue their education,” Strazz said in a release announcing the group's new officers.
Other newly elected officers include Cindy Argerious (vice president for membership), Celia Petters (vice president for programs), Heather Brown (treasurer), and Janice Bennafield (secretary).
The Tampa Bay BPW meets on the second Wednesday of each month. More information is available at the group's website.
