An upcoming conference in Sarasota will highlight the economic impact caused by the widening of the Panama Canal, which is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
Opportunity Panama will take place on April 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, Sarasota. The event will discuss potential benefits that shipping executives might enjoy from the upcoming changes.
Speakers will include His Excellency Jaime Aleman, Panamanian Ambassador to the United States, and U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key.
