Commercial real estate brokerage firm Avison Young has added Allen E. Henderson to its Tampa staff as a vice president, where he will focus on capital market transactions.

Henderson joins Avison Young, a Toronto-based firm with more than 80 offices in North America and seven in Florida, from rival JLL, where he was a senior vice president of that firm’s capital markets group.

At Avison Young, Henderson will work with Principal Tim Callahan to bolster the company’s office, industrial and net-leased asset sales throughout Central Florida.

“Orlando and Tampa have seen robust investment sale activity over the past year, warranting the further expansion of our capital markets group with the addition of Allen,” Callahan says.

Henderson has more than three decades of commercial real estate experience and has been involved in residential and commercial transactions totaling more than $1.3 billion.

During his career, he has represented institutional clients such as Aetna Life Insurance Co., Prudential Insurance, MetLife, AEW and Travelers Insurance.

Henderson says he was drawn to principal-owned Avison Young by its “highly collaborative culture across offices and regions that allowed for its rapid growth in size, assignments and sales.”

Avison Young bills itself as the world’s fastest-growing commercial real estate company. By 2020, the company believes it will generate $1 billion in annual revenue.

In Tampa, Avison Young’s office has a staff of nearly two dozen, led by Managing Principals Clay Witherspoon and Ken Lane.
