St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport smashed its September passenger traffic record with 117,987 travelers last month — a 29% bump over September 2015.

The airport, under the call letters PIE, is up 12% in passenger traffic, year-to-date, according to a release. Allegiant, the dominant carrier at the airport, recently announced forthcoming flights from PIE to Trenton, N.J., Portsmouth, N.H. and Austin.

The airport now serves 56 destinations nonstop.
