FORT MYERS — Contractors pulled 16 permits for commercial construction in January, representing $23.9 million in project value, according to Lee County Community Development.
One project in particular boosted the monthly total: a new three-story office complex at Chico's Headquarters on Metro Parkway is being valued at $20 million, LCCD says.
A year ago, $5.4 million in commercial permits were pulled.
Contractors also pulled permits for the construction of 35 new single-family homes, essentially unchanged from a year ago, when 34 permits were pulled.
