Tampa-based OnMed has made Karthik Ganesh its new CEO, according to a Monday news release.
OnMed makes a patented Care Station, a virtual walk-in clinic that is a private, self-contained space "where patients can receive a personalized primary or urgent care experience enabled by a combination of diagnostic and interactive technologies, including vitals and biometrics, in real time," the company says.
OnMed was self-funded until October 2019, when Tampa General Hospital deployed a unit for its employees.
Care Station "has been gaining significant traction as an innovative care-delivery solution with growing partnerships across health systems, payers, state and federal governments, universities and other organizations looking to provide quality, affordable and equitable access to care," the company says.
The appointment of Ganesh as the CEO coincides with a series of successful installations and ongoing projections for more, the company says. Since 2018, Ganesh has been CEO of EmpiRx Health, a pharmacy benefits manager.
"His leadership journey has included health plan, pharmacy services, health tech, third-party administration and provider-sponsored services," the company says. "He has delivered market-leading results, created significant enterprise and investor value, built high-performing and diverse teams and driven meaningful M&A transactions with strategic investors and private equity."
