SARASOTA — Sales momentum has been building throughout 2020 at The Founders Club with new homesite sales, model homes sold and new homes under construction by luxury homebuilders.

Total sales have amounted to more than $20 million for the past 10 months in the Sarasota community, according to a press release.

The new private residences underway include designs by London Bay Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes and AR Homes, all whom are building or recently completed new custom model homes at The Founders Club.

“The interest throughout this year has been tremendous,” says Melissa Dovey, sales executive at The Founders Club, in a statement. “We’re seeing people come from all over — as close as Lakewood Ranch, to California, Chicago, Kentucky and Texas — motivated by optimal weather, favorable financial opportunities, expansive open spaces, privacy and proximity to beaches and Sarasota’s cultural district.”

The Founders Club has 262 homesites within the community’s 700 acres. It has hundreds of protected live oaks and a natural habitat that attracts a variety of birds and wildlife. The community also has a Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course, Har-Tru tennis courts and a basketball and sand volleyball court. A clubhouse offers casual and fine dining, a fitness center and a full social calendar with the purchase of an optional club membership.

The building program at The Founders Club is comprised of four builders — AR Homes, John Cannon Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes and London Bay Homes.

“We’re seeing about 75% of buyers still working part time,” says Dovey in a statement. “So, the opportunity to select from a myriad of builders to create a variety of home options — whether needing to create a dedicated work-from-home space or virtual learning area, has been a major contributor to sales.”

Homebuyers can visit the newly completed Davidson model by London Bay Homes. The home is priced at $1,475,000. London Bay Homes’ 3,092-square-foot model home The Cameron is also open for viewing. It is offered at $1,499,400.
