LAKEWOOD RANCH — The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance appointed Dominic DiMaio president and CEO, effective later this month.

The organization's board of directors and its search committee led a two-month search process that led to DiMaio's selection, according to a statement.

Most recently, DiMaio served as division CEO of central Florida for Synovus Bank of Florida. He has over 30 years of experience in banking, developing and implementing strategic plans, financial analysis, relationship management, business development and team management, the statement says.

DiMaio has also been on the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance board and executive committee since 2017.

“For the past 30 years, I have worked diligently on building and strengthening relationships to serve the community and help grow businesses throughout Lakewood Ranch and surrounding areas," says DiMaio in a statement. "I look forward to staying connected to my current relationships while forging new ones in order to strengthen the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance throughout the region.”

As president and CEO, DiMaio will work with the board of directors and staff to initiate, implement and evaluate Alliance activities. He will also develop growth strategies, a press release says.

“The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance plays a vital role in connecting and strengthening the business community in our region,” says Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance Chairman Heather Williams in a statement. “Dom’s wealth of knowledge and vision will help the Alliance grow its status as a regional hub of influence and the premier business organization on the Suncoast."

Lakewood Ranch is a 31,000-acre master-planned community in Sarasota and Manatee counties. It is home to more than 36,000 residents.
